Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024

On 14 February 2024 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit any person from entering or proceeding on foot or by any other means in that length of the Bishops Wood Footpath (D7204) Woking as extends from its junction with (D7241) Denton Way to its junction with (D7204) Bishops Wood.

Alternative Route: Denton Way and Boshops Wood.

This Order is required to facilitate utility works for, or on behalf of UKPN. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 3 days between the hours of 8am and 6pm, during the 6-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 26 February 2024.

Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Due to the nature of the works, there will be no access across the footbridge and along the footpath whilst works are in progress. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists. No sole access will be affected.
