Bethel Lane (D5350) Farnham and Upper Hale Road (A3016) Farnham
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023
On 09 August 2023 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of;
(a) Bethel Lane (D5350) Farnham.
Alternative Route: Heath Lane and;
(b) the entire length of Upper Hale Road (A3016) Farnham.
Alternative Route: Clockwise- (A325) Hale Road, Farnborough Road, (A31) Shepherd & Flock Roundabout, (A325) Guildford Road, East Street, Dogflud Way, East Street, The Borough, (A287) Castle Street, Castle Hill, and Folly Hill. Anti-Clockwise- (A287) Folly Hill, Castle Hill, Castle Street, (A325) The Borough, Bear Lane, Woolmead, East Street, Guildford Road, (A31) Shepherd & Flock Roundabout, (A325) Farnborough Road, and Hale Road.
This Order is required to facilitate highways improvement and/or maintenance works by or on behalf of Surrey County Council. These works are anticipated to be completed as soon as possible within the 18 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 18 August 2023.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. Access to premises within the affected length of road including access by emergency vehicles to these properties will be maintained only when safe to do so, if necessary, via the diversion route. All other traffic will be required to use the signed diversion route.
During certain phases of the works, vehicular access to premises may be restricted, when this is the case such restriction of access will apply for no more than eight hours within any 24-hour period.
