Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023

On 11 October 2023 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Bagshot Road (A322) Woking that is crossed under the bridge known as "Bagshot Road Bridge" and for a distance of 20 metres either side.

Alternative Route: (1) (A322) Bagshot Road, (A324) Brookwood Lye Road, Hermitage Road, (A324) Amstel Way, Lockfield Drive, (A320) Victoria Way, Victoria Road, Station Approach, Guildford Road, Egley Road, (B380) Mayford Green, Smarts Heath Road, Berry Lane, and (A322) Bagshot Road;

(2) (A322) Bagshot Road, (B380) Berry Lane, Smarts Heath Road, Mayford Green, (A320) Egley Road, Guildford Road, Victoria Way, (A324) Lockfield Drive, Amstel Drive, Hermitage Road, Brookwood Lye Road, and (A322) Bagshot Road.

This Order is required to carry out bridge maintenance works by, or on behalf of Network Rail. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 9 weeks between 8pm and 6am, during the 18-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 23 October 2023.

Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians will be maintained at all times. Due to the nature of the works, it will not be possible to maintain vehicular access through the closure, and all vehicular traffic, including the emergency services will be required to use the signed diversion route. No sole access will be affected by this closure.
