Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024

On 21 February 2024 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of Amlets Lane (D191) Cranleigh.

Alternative Route: (D192) Barhatch Lane, (B2127) Ewhurst Road, (B2128) High Street, and (D182) Horseshoe Lane, or this route in reverse.

This Order is required to facilitate mains water reinforcement works for, or on behalf of Thames Water. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 4 months between the hours of 7.30am and 7pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 04 March 2024.

Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians. Cyclists and equestrians will need to wait to be escorted through the site.
