Surrey Arts Gala 2023

Surrey Arts will be holding the first Surrey Arts Gala on Sunday 26 March. The Gala will showcase some of Surrey's talented young musicians currently playing in advanced and inclusive ensembles and area ensembles based in the east of the county collaborating together. As there are so many ensembles performing, there will be two concerts which will be held at Woldingham School in Caterham.

The concerts will see joint performances from the choirs Just So Singers, Together at Home, Surrey Youth Training Choir and Surrey Youth Choir; Surrey County Youth Orchestra and Surrey County Youth Jazz Orchestra; Reigate String Orchestras and South East Surrey Advanced Wind covering music such as Romeo and Juliet Fantasy Overture by Tchaikovsky, highlights from Harry Potter by John Williams and Stevie Wonder's Sir Duke.

Event organiser Alison Harding says 'This is a fantastic opportunity for young musicians to perform with other ensembles. We're very lucky to have so many wonderful young musicians and we are looking forward to the performances which I'm sure the parents are too.'

These are the first large concert performances of Surrey Arts ensembles since the Brooklands in Sound concert in 2018 largely because of the Covid pandemic.
