Work set to start on new Community Hub in Weybridge

We know how important community spaces are for people to feel connected in their neighbourhoods. A place to come together, join up and join in. Whether that's a space to get help guidance and advice, read a book, use a computer, meet up with friends or do a fitness class. A community space designed to give residents what they need and want. At the heart of their community.

The Surrey County Council Community Hubs programme is about making these shared spaces happen in certain locations across the county, tailored to the needs and wants of that particular neighbourhood. Part of our ambition to ensure No One Is Left Behind.

Weybridge Community Hub

Work on the new Community Hub in Weybridge started at the end of April 2024, the first in the series of new Community Hubs. The Weybridge Hub will include a modern library, a space for targeted youth support, accessible community spaces for hire and other commercially lettable space within.

Works will see the external building refurbished, whilst the ground floor will be expanded by extending into the rear courtyard. There will also be a full refit of all interiors, providing accommodation for a variety of services and partners. The plans have been worked on and agreed by the council in partnership with architects Pick Everard and engineering company Atkins Realis.

Weybridge Library will be temporarily relocated from 9 April to Weybridge Centre for the Community, Churchfied Place, Weybridge KT13 8BZ.
