By end of July 2025:
- Transition Reviews to have taken place to discuss your child's transition to their new school or key stage.
- Education, Health and Care (EHC) plan's amended where applicable, following the review.
September 2025:
- You will receive a letter providing an overview of the admissions process and asking for your preferred choice of school.
- Contact your child's Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Case Officer with your preferred choice of school, if you have not already done so at your Transition review.
October 2025:
School places for children and young people already attending all through maintained specialist schools, which are still deemed suitable, will be considered for continuation.
November 2025:
- For current Year 6, we will consult with schools, for pupils requiring mainstream provision, and allocation of school places in mainstream schools with specialist centres attached and specialist schools.
- For current Year 11, we will consult with colleges, sixth form and all though schools. We will also consult for places in sixth form with specialist centres attached and specialist schools.
December 2025:
School consultations undertaken for children:
- going into Reception
- leaving an Infant mainstream school or leaving a mainstream schools with an infant specialist centre attached
- allocations of specialist school places taken place.
February 2026:
- Final Education Health and Care (EHC) plan's for school aged pupils, with confirmed placements, or type of provision for September 2026, in line with the Code of Practice 2014.
- Apply for travel assistance, if eligible and required.
March to August 2026:
For the small number of pupils where we have not been able to name a specific school or Post 16 provision, will continue to consult with appropriate school and will keep your informed.
September 2026:
- Key Stage Transfer process for September 2026 complete. Pupils will have a named school or post 16 provision or education package in place.
- Key Stage Transfer for September 2026 commences.
