List of chargeable and non-chargeable waste items

From 1 September – Free allowance of DIY waste per household

This is limited to 1 visit in a 7 day period and you may bring:

  • Up to 2 x 50 litre bags (50cm x 77cm) of DIY waste, or
  • 1 large item up to 200cm x 75cm in size (cars only; restrictions apply to vans), or
  • 1 sheet of plasterboard 120cm x 140cm (sheets may be presented whole or as 2 halves).

Additional visits with DIY waste over a household's free weekly allowance will incur charges.

For large home renovation projects, please consider hiring a skip to dispose of your waste.

Disposing of large quantities of waste in a van or trailer

Please note: We can only accept large quantities of waste arising from the construction, alteration or repair of your home or garden at Guildford, Epsom or Leatherhead where your waste will be weighed and a charge made.

For large home renovation projects please consider hiring a skip to dispose of your waste.

Disposal of asbestos, cement and plasterboard

  • Asbestos must not be disposed of with any of the above materials.
  • Only cured (set) cement accepted.
  • Plasterboard must be disposed of in the dedicated plasterboard container
