Beata is a professional life model and works with Surrey Adult Learning in all areas of modelling from life art, sculpture and photography. She is a subscribed member of The Register of Artists’ Models (RAM), which is an organisation for professional models in the industry.
Beata discovered her talent for modelling by sheer coincidence. The catalyst for the career shift occurred when her daughter offered her a professional photo shoot in London for her 40th Birthday present in order to take family pictures together and create a portfolio for herself. The portfolio was published on the internet. Beata was spotted by a model talent scout in London and was approached to do modelling work.
Beata has extensive modelling experience; her initial pieces of work involved being a life model for Hurtwood House School in Surrey and King Edwards School, then subsequently, Watts Gallery in Surrey.
Beata was invited to travel to Atlanta, United States to model. Her work includes modelling underwater and television appearances. She has also been published in magazines. Beata is comfortable being recognised by strangers who have seen her face in magazine publications or on television and is very light hearted about being a “Debbie Harry” look-a-like!
The modelling industry involves a lot of contacts through word of mouth and Beata has built a respected reputation in the industry.
When discussing the challenges of her job Beata said she had to keep fit and practises yoga as her work involves twisted poses which can occasionally be uncomfortable. She needs to be versatile and makes a point of taking a cushion for comfort and a suitable robe when assisting a life class.
Beata loves modelling and enjoys the variety of classes she participates in. The opportunity to help Learners explore their creativeness at all levels is an aspect of her work that Beata cherishes.
Each class has its own personality and she enjoys meeting new people and helping Learners discover different approaches to new techniques, including both contemporary and classical styles.
Upon reflection, Beata commented on how life modelling has kept her young. She has a refreshing approach to life art and a keen desire to promote it. Beata’s natural and radiant personality, coupled with her years of experience are some of the elements that make her a valued life model with Surrey Adult Learning.
