There stages of the review are listed above. We are currently at the advertisement and objections stage.

Introduction

Starting in August 2025 we will be assessing on-street parking concerns across the borough by carrying out site visits. These concerns have been raised since the previous review and have been brought to our attention by a variety of people including:

  • members of the public,
  • the police,
  • councillors,
  • highway officers.

The requests are assessed based on a number of factors, including:

  • road safety,
  • accessibility,
  • congestion,
  • the possibility of just displacing a problem
  • how many people supported the change.

After completing all the site visits, we will prepare a report of our findings and recommendations.

Authorisation

In January 2026, our local county councillors and Parking and Traffic Enforcement Team manager approved the proposed restrictions for advertisement. The proposals are displayed in the drawings at the bottom of this page, accompanied by a document outlining the reasons for them.

Advertisement and objections

We are advertising the approved proposals for a 28 day period from 25 June to 23 July 2026. This will include:

  • The publishing of a formal notice in the Surrey Mirror on Thursday 25 June 2026;
  • Street notices being erected on site at each location;
  • Sending or delivering letters to any properties immediately in front of which changes are proposed;
  • Drawings and a statement of reasons being available to view online at the bottom of this page and the following places during normal opening hours:
    1. Caterham Hill Library, Westway, Caterham, Surrey, CR3 5TP
    2. Caterham Valley library, Stafford Road, Caterham, Surrey, CR3 6JG

    6. Tandridge District Council, 8 Station Road East, Oxted, Surrey, RH8 0BT

In the documents below, explains all of the proposed changes and why they are being introduced. It also shows which drawings relate to each change. The proposals are organised by electoral division and then by town, with drawings grouped for each councillor’s area.

If you wish to comment on, support, or object to any of the proposals, please complete our Tandridge Parking Review 2025 Feedback Form by 23 July 2026 as this form will only be available from 25 June - 23 July. Alternatively, please write, quoting 'Tandridge Parking Review 2025' to: Parking Team, Hazel House, Merrow Lane, Guildford, GU4 7BQ.

Approval

All feedback from the consultation will be sorted by proposal, compiled into a report, and shared with the relevant Tandridge county councillor and the Parking and Traffic Enforcement Manager. They will review the feedback and decide how to proceed at each location. Public feedback can result in a proposal being dropped completely or a reduced proposal being progressed. It is not possible to extend a scheme once it has been formally consulted upon. If no objections are received about a particular proposal, it will proceed as advertised through to implementation.

Once final verdicts have been agreed, a 'Decisions Report' will be written and published below on this web page. Everybody who participated in the consultation will be notified when the Decisions Report is available. The report will summarise the feedback received during the consultation and state the final councillor’s decision with an explanation.

Implementation

Each approved location will be visited, measured, and marked out for the new parking scheme. We will then arrange for contractors to install the lines and signs. This work depends on suitable weather, so there may be delays during winter or wet periods.

A final traffic regulation order (TRO) will then be made and published. This will make all the changes made in the parking review legally enforceable by civil enforcement officers.
