There are a number of stages involved in the review and these are explained below. This parking review is now underway.
The current stage is: Introduction
Starting in March and continuing through April 2023 we will be assessing on-street parking concerns across the borough by carrying out site visits. These are the concerns that have been brought to our attention largely by members of the public, the police, councillors and highway officers since the previous review took place. We assess the requests based on road safety, accessibility, congestion, the possibility of just displacing a problem and how many people have requested a change.
After completing all the site visits we will prepare a report of our findings and recommendations.
We shall present this report of our findings and recommendations to the County Councillors for Woking Borough. Each County Councillor will need to agree and approve the Parking Engineer's proposals for their division. Once agreement has been reached we shall advertise the proposals, allowing the local community to have their say on the proposals.

The parking proposals that got approved by County Councillors will then be formally advertised by public notice
Please note that any Woking town centre proposals will be displayed in the Goldsworth East and Horsell Village division.
All the feedback following the advertising stage is then compiled into a report. This report is then distributed to councillors and the Traffic Enforcement and Parking Team Manager to read. Together they made decisions on how to proceed at each location, taking the feedback submitted during the consultation into account.
The final recommendations are presented in a 'Decisions Report', which will be published below on this web page. It will also be distributed to everybody who participated in the consultation to let them know the outcome.
Then works orders will be raised with our lining and signing contractors to install the agreed changes.
A final Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) will then be made and published. This will make all the changes made in the parking review legally enforceable by Civil Enforcement Officers.
