Spelthorne parking review 2020

There are a number of stages involved in the review, these are shown below. Due to the number of stages in the review, it takes about one year to complete a parking review from start to finish.

The current stage is Advertisement and objections

  1. Introduction
  2. Committee authorisation
  3. Advertisement and objections
  4. Approval
  5. Implementation

The 2020 parking review took place over September and October 2020 and was presented to Spelthorne Joint Committee in November 2020. A total of 160 requests for new or amended parking restrictions in the borough were assessed as part of the review.

Committee authorisation

The 2020 review was presented to Spelthorne Joint Committee on 30 November 2020. All proposals were agreed for advertisement with no changes.

The parking proposals are currently being advertised from 26 March to 23 April 2021. This includes the publishing of a formal notice in a local newspaper; street notices being erected on site at each location; plus drawings and a statement of reasons available to view online at the bottom of this page. Those properties immediately fronting locations where changes are proposed will be notified individually by letter.

If you wish to comment on, support or object to any of the proposals then please complete our Surrey Says feedback form. Alternatively, please write to: Spelthorne Parking Review 2020, Parking Team, Hazel House, Merrow Lane, Guildford, GU4 7BQ.

All objections, support and comment responses will be compiled into a 'Decision report', which will include a decision on how to proceed at each location. Once members have agreed this report, it will be made available to download and view at the bottom of this page. Those who responded to the advertisement will be notified of the decisions by email or by letter.

After the approval stage has concluded, detailed design will begin for all agreed locations, which involves arrangements for all necessary lining and signing work around the borough. Once this work is installed on the ground, the Traffic Regulation Orders will be made with a 'go live' date for enforcement to begin.
