£27,000 of grant funding has been awarded to groups across Surrey
We know how important it is to protect our environment by reducing waste, protecting our green spaces and tackling climate change. That's why we have partnered with Surrey Climate Commission to award community projects across the county a total of £27,000 to help with their efforts to protect the environment.
Grants of up to £2,000 have been awarded to 35 community projects delivering impactful projects including, Libraries of Things, Repair Cafes, community orchards and local growing projects. Some of the successful organisations to be awarded funding includes Women's Institute, Zero Carbon Guildford, George Abbot and Shottermill schools, and Wildlife Aid.
Surrey County Council and Surrey Climate commission aims to protect Surrey's wildlife and countryside, and to reduce emissions to ensure our towns and villages are resilient and healthy enough to cope with the uncertain future we face due to climate change.
