Esher Centre celebrates learning with an open evening
On 4th July Esher Centre hosted an Open Evening to showcase the work of our in-house tutors and brought together our community of learners, tutors, support staff, families, and friends for an end of year celebration of achievements during 2022/23. A 'hall of fame' corridor in the Centre shared the biographies of our unique tutors. The Esher Centre was proud to showcase the quality of teaching and the remarkable work produced by our community. Live courses took place, including languages, and a thought-provoking art class which was delivered remotely using a video recording by art tutor Roger Hutchins.
There was a joy of togetherness as tutors and groups of people who are passionate about their subject of choice gathered together, to celebrate learning and the satisfaction of attending courses with Surrey Adult Learning.
The pottery studio was busy with learners completing clay work projects and personal designs using the wheel and moulding the clay. Every piece of clay was meaningful to the learner from the pride of serving olives in a delightfully glazed bowl to decorative chimney pots!
