Surrey County Council has partnered with iChoosr Ltd, independent experts in group buying, to bring the Solar Together Surrey scheme to local homeowners.
This innovative scheme helps you install high-quality solar photovoltaic (PV) panels and battery storage at a competitive price. By joining with other Surrey residents, you benefit from group-buying power, making the process more cost-effective and straightforward.
You’ll be supported throughout, from registration to installation with clear, step-by-step updates.
How it works
- Register for free
Sign up without obligation at solartogether.co.uk/surrey. You’ll be asked to provide basic information about your roof, such as its size and direction. - Reverse auction
Approved solar installers compete to offer the best value in a reverse auction. The more people who register, the better the offer should be. - Personal recommendation
From 29 July 2025, you’ll receive a tailored recommendation by email. This includes system details, costs, and specifications based on your roof. - Make your decision
You choose whether to accept your recommendation, there’s no obligation. We’ll let you know how long you have to decide and when the scheme will close. - Installation
If you accept, the chosen installer will contact you to arrange a roof survey and confirm your final price. Installations are planned to be completed by the end of March 2026.
Already have solar panels?
You can also take part in the scheme to add battery storage to your existing solar panel system, helping you store more energy and increase efficiency.
Planning permission
Most solar PV systems are considered ‘permitted development’, so planning permission usually isn’t needed.
However, if your property is a Listed Building or in a Conservation Area, you may need permission.
