The event is for people with learning disabilities and will include workshops, a marketplace and refreshments.

- Accessible Cycling – enjoy adapted bikes provided by Wheels For All meaning everyone can experience the joy of cycling

Learning Disability Awareness Picnic in the park
The West Surrey Community Team for People with a Learning Disability (CTPLD) is hosting another Picnic in the Park to celebrate Learning Disability Awareness Week.

You will get the chance to:
- meet the Community Learning Disabilities Health Team

New report - Preparing for adulthood
Think Local Act Personal (TLAP) have published a new, co-produced report, Preparing for adulthood, exploring how to ensure a smoother process for people. It shares practical recommendations based on what people said really matters:
- clear and timely information
- early planning
- being seen as a whole person
- real choice and control
Baseline dementia assessments for people with learning disabilities
The Community Teams for People with Learning Disabilities (CTPLD) do baseline dementia assessments for people with Down’s Syndrome over the age of 30. It is important to understand people’s current functioning so that if concerns are raised in the future they can be compared, helping to diagnose dementia more quickly and effectively.
GPs, carers or self-referral is through a referral form that you can get from your local CTPLD.

Supported Loving are hosting a free webinar on the menstrual experiences of autistic people, and people with learning disabilities explored through a neurodiversity-affirming lens.

Medications and My Mental Health
Medications and My Mental Health is a research study about mental health medications in the lives of people with learning disabilities. They have created a collection of information to help people be more involved in decisions about their mental health medications.
This includes conversation cards, a glossary, stories and question and answer booklets. All the resources are in easy read.
House of Lords call for evidence on the Autism Act 2009
The House of Lords Committee on the Autism Act 2009 wants to understand how well autism legislation and guidelines are working so that it can make specific, practical recommendations about what the Government should do next.
The Committee wants to hear from autistic people, their carers and supporters, people who work with autistic people and people who work on research into how to support autistic people.
Further information about the call for evidence is available online. You will be asked to respond to questions about topics you have experience in. Available in Easy Read and audio formats. You can write your response in a form or document or submit a voice recording.

Stress awareness month
We all have times when we feel low, anxious or life feels too busy. Little things, like talking to a friend or taking a moment to concentrate on your breathing, can really help us feel much better.
Everyone has stress and it is very normal. It is important to know ways to deal with it if you feel it is getting too much. Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear have created an easy read webpage on managing your stress.
Surrey professionals: Autism suicide prevention training
Autism Oxford are offering free online training sessions for professionals in Surrey, supporting either children and young people or adults.
This training aims to give professionals tools to better support autistic individuals.
Professionals supporting children and young people:

Professionals supporting adults:
- 3 June 1.30pm and 15 July 1.30pm
Each course is 2 sessions of 2.5 hours. It includes pre-learning, live sessions, and post-reflection to deepen your knowledge and skills. Certificates are provided when both parts are completed.
