Transport Studies - surveys and monitoring

The Transport Studies' Surveys and Monitoring team undertakes a wide range of transport related surveys, using both automatic and manual collection techniques.

Surveys undertaken include:

  • Automatic traffic counts
  • Manual classified counts
  • Turning counts
  • Road side interviews
  • Automatic cycle counts
  • Speed surveys
  • Journey times
  • Queue lengths
  • Parking surveys
  • Mode split surveys
  • Video surveys
  • Pedestrian surveys: counts and interviews
  • Bus passengers: counts and interviews

Much of this information is collated and summarised in an annual Transport Statistics for Surrey report, which illustrates year-on-year traffic and travel trends in the County.
