Waverley parking review 2020

There are a number of stages involved in the review, these are shown below.

The current stage is: Implementation

Introduction

During January 2020, we assessed over 130 requests for new or amended parking restrictions in Waverley. These were brought to our attention largely by members of the public, the police, councillors and highway officers, since the previous review took place. After assessing the requests, and determining priorities for this review, proposals have been made for presentation at Waverley local committee.

Committee authorisation

All proposed parking restrictions were presented to Waverley Local Committee on 13 March 2020. The proposals were agreed with no changes.

Advertisement and objections

All of the proposed parking restrictions were advertised from 2 October to 30 October 2020. This included the publishing of a formal notice in the Surrey Advertiser and Farnham and Haslemere Herald; street notices being erected on site at each location; plus drawings and a statement of reasons available to view at the bottom of this page. Those properties immediately fronting locations where changes are proposed were notified individually by letter.

Approval

The Parking Team manager, in consultation with the chairman/ vice chairman of the local committee, and the county councillor of the area concerned considered the feedback, both positive and negative, that we received during the formal advertisement and have agreed final decisions about which proposals will be implemented. A report summarising the objections, support and comments received, detailing the final decisions and the reasons for them, is available to download and view at the bottom of this page. Everybody who responded to the formal advert on a particular proposal will be written to, notifying them of the decision made prior to the implementation stage. Please note that the responses to the advertised Electric Vehicle Charging points in Waverley were considered as part of a separate report to Waverley Local Committee on 13 November 2020.

Implementation

This review is currently being installed on the ground and should be completed during Spring 2022. We apologise for the delay in finishing this review on the ground.
