Wednesday 7th February 2024, 4 to 6pm at G Live, London Road, Guildford, GU1 2AA.
Join the new Surrey Dance Network Teachers Hub for a twilight Continuing Professional Development (CPD), looking at approaches to delivering dance within the primary school curriculum.
Register your interest by emailing hannahdelaneydance@gmail.com.
This is the first of these kinds of sessions and will give you a chance to:
- Watch a short extract from The Story Detectives, a dance performance piece designed for schools and libraries
- Try out some warm-up strategies for dance in primary schools and ways to get started creating your own dance phrases linked to curriculum topics
- Meet and chat with other teachers and tell us more about what you would like to see in future CPD opportunities.
CPD Schedule
- 3.45pm arrival and refreshments
- 4pm watch an extract of The Story Detectives
- 4.20pm practical session
- 5.30pm chat and feedback on ideas for future events.
This is Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) first offering of the year for the Dance Teachers Hub, supported by Culture Box.
It will be aimed at primary school teachers in Surrey or others interested in working with dance in schools and led by local choreographer and dance teacher Katie Green, with dancers from her company Made By Katie Green.
You don’t need to have dance experience to attend. The session will include practical activity and discussion so we recommend wearing something you’re comfortable moving in and bring a bottle of water.
