From December 2011 the council is required to establish and maintain a flooding asset register. The flooding asset register includes key assets (structures and features such as a wall, ditch or bridge) that are known to cause or allow the major flooding of properties, critical infrastructure or block major roads when the asset is not functioning to an adequate level.
The flooding asset register will take the form of a database. New structures and features will be added as information becomes available.
Purpose of the asset register
- Inform the public of key flooding assets in their area
- Inform the Surrey Local Flood Risk Management Strategy
- Influence maintenance regimes
- Assist investigations of significant flood events.
You can download a list of structures and features on the register (PDF)
Further information on the register can be found on the Flood risk management page on the Gov.uk website.
