Various Roads in Woking
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.2) 2023
On 20 December 2023 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 of the Act the effect of which will be to:
(1) Prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice and
(2) Suspend "The Surrey County Council Saunders Lane (D3680) Woking and Goose Lane (D3781) Woking Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023" in its entirety.
This Order is required to facilitate highways improvement and/or maintenance/ and /or signage and road marking, and alternative treatment works for, or on behalf of Surrey County Council. These works are anticipated to be carried out as soon as possible within the 18-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 16 January 2024.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed; and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle's owner. Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times, as will access for emergency service vehicles in an emergency situation only. Vehicular access for residents and businesses will be maintained only when safe to do so, if necessary, via the diversion route. During certain phases of the works, vehicular access to premises may be restricted, when this is the case such restriction of access will apply for no more than eight hours within any 24-hour period.
Schedule
(i) that length of Saunders Lane (D3680) Woking as extends from its junction with (D3680) Blackhorse Road to its junction with (B380) Smarts Heath Road.
Alternative Route: Black Horse Road, and (B380) Smarts Heath Road, or this route in reverse.
(ii) the entire length of Goose Lane (D3781) Woking including both arms from its junction with (D3680) Saunders Lane.
Alternative Route: Black Horse Road, and (B380) Smarts Heath Road, or this route in reverse.
(iii) the entire length of Howards Road (D3717) Woking.
Alternative Route: Elmbridge Lane and Sunridge Road.
