Various Roads in the District of Mole Valley
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.1) 2024

On 28 February 2024 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 of the Act the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the lengths of road described in the Schedule to this Notice.

This Notice is required to facilitate urgent and essential gas mains replacement work for, or on behalf of SGN within the length of roads described in this notice. This Temporary Traffic Order commences on 05 March 2024 and continues in force the provisions introduced by "The Surrey County Council Eastwick Road (D2549), Crabtree Lane (D2546), Flint Close (D2565), and Leatherhead Road (D2503), Bookham Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Notice 2024" issued under Section 14(2) of the Act on 14 February 2024.

Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. It will not be possible to maintain access through the closure for emergency services, residents and businesses and all vehicular traffic will be required to use the signed diversion route. The Council are satisfied that, in accordance with Section 3(2)(a) and 3(2)(b) of the Act, vehicular access to and from premises within the length of road above, or accessible only therefrom, may be restricted in order to avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road and/or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising.

Schedule

(a) That length of Eastwick Road (D2549) Bookham as extends from its junction with (A246) Leatherhead Road and for a distance of 10 metres in a northerly direction.

Alternative Route: Lower Road, The Lorne, Hawkwood Rise, (A246) Guildford Road, and (A246) Leatherhead Road, or this route in reverse.

(b) That length of Crabtree Lane (D2546) Bookham as extends from the junction with (A246) Leatherhead Road and for a distance of 10 metres in a southerly direction.

Alternative Route: (A246) Leatherhead Road, Downs Way, and Blackthorne Road, or this route in reverse.

(c) That length Flint Close (D2565) Bookham as extends from its junction with (A246) Leatherhead Road and for a distance of 10 metres in a southerly direction.

Alternative Route: South End, (D2503) Leatherhead Road and (A246) Leatherhead Road, or this route in reverse.

(d) That length of Leatherhead Road (D2503) Bookham as extends from the junction with (A246) Leatherhead Road and for a distance of 10 metres in a southerly direction.

Alternative route: (A246) Leatherhead Road.
