The Street (C119) Tongham and Oxenden Road (C119) Tongham
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023
On 16 August 2023 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of;
a) The Street (C119) Tongham as extends from its junction with (A31) Runfold Diversion to its junction with (C19) Poyle Road, and; b) Oxenden Road (C119) Tongham as extends from its junction with (C119) The Street to its junction with (D80) Elm Lane.
Alternative Route: (1) The Street, (A31) Runfold Diversion, (A331) Blackwater Valley Road, (A323) Aldershot Road, Manor Road, and The Street or this route in reverse, and (2) Oxenden Road, Manor Road, and (A323) Aldershot Road or this route in reverse.
This Order is required to facilitate highways improvement and/or maintenance works by or on behalf of Surrey County Council. These works are anticipated to be completed as soon as possible within the 18 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 01 September 2023.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in force 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians will be maintained at all times. It will not be possible to maintain access through the closure for emergency services, residents and businesses and all vehicular traffic will be required to use the signed diversion route.
The Council are satisfied that, in accordance with Section 3(2)(a) and 3(2)(b) of the Act, vehicular access to and from premises within the length of road above, or accessible only therefrom, may be restricted in order to avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road and/or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising.
