Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024

On 24 January 2024 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of The Street (A247) West Clandon as extends from its junction with (A25) Epsom Road to its junction with (D852) Meadowlands.

Alternative Route: (a): (A25) Shere Road, (A25) Epsom Road, (A246) Epsom Road, (A3100) London Road, (A3100) Clay Lane, (A3) Guildford- Godalming By-pass, (A3) London Road, (B2215) London Road, (A247) Clandon Road, and (A247) The Street; and (b) (A247) The Street, (A247) Clandon Road, (A3) Ripley By-pass Southbound, (A3) London Road, (A3) London Burpham Slip Road, (A3100) London Road, (A246) Epsom Road, (A25) Epsom Road.

This Order is required to facilitate excavation works, along with new ducting works along the carriageway and footway for, or on behalf of BT Openreach. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 1 day between the hours of 8am and 4pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 01 February 2024.

Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, via the operatives on site, as will access for pedestrians and cyclists.
