Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023

On 06 September 2023 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Stoughton Road (D4023) Guildford that is crossed by the bridge known as "Stoughton Lane Bridge" (WPH117/13) and for a distance of 20 metres either side.

Alternative Route: Stoughton Road, (A320) Woking Road, (A25) Ladymead, (A322) Aldershot Road, (A322) Worplesdon Road, and Stoughton Road or this route in reverse.

This Order is required to facilitate roadside, and underside structural bridge works for, or on behalf of Network Rail. These works are anticipated to be carried out in sections throughout the 18-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 23 September 2023.

Note: The phases of work are anticipated to be carried out:

(1) Saturday 23 September 2023 to Monday 25 September 2023 between the hours of 11pm and 4am.

(2) Saturday 07 October 2023 to Monday 09 October 2023 between the hours of 11pm and 4am.

(3) Saturday 11 November 2023 to Monday 13 November 2023 between the hours of 11pm and 4am.

(4) Saturday 25 November 2023 to Monday 27 November 2023 between the hours of 11pm and 4am.

(5) Saturday 06 January 2024 to Monday 08 January 2024 between the hours of 1am and 4am.

(6) Saturday 13 January 2024 to Monday 15 January 2024 between the hours of 1am and 4am.

(7) Saturday 20 January 2024 to Monday 22 January 2024 between the hours of 11pm and 4am.

(8) Saturday 23 March 2024 to Monday 25 March 2024 between the hours of 11pm and 4am.

Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for residents will be maintained at all times. Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times via the footbridge. All other vehicular traffic, including the emergency services will be required to use the signed diversion route.
