Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024

On 20 March 2024 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Ruckmans Lane (D293) Dorking as extends from its junction with (X68505) Ruckmans Lane to its junction with (A29) Stane Street.

Alternative Route: (A29) Stane Street, Okewood Hill, and Ruckmans Lane, or this route in reverse.

This Order is required to carry out new water connection works for, or on behalf of SES Water. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 5 days between 8.30am and 5pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 08 April 2024.

Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in force 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. Due to the nature of the works, it will not be possible to maintain vehicular access through the closure, and all vehicular traffic, including the emergency services will be required to use the signed diversion route. No sole access will be affected by this closure.
