Reigate Road (A240) Burgh Heath
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024

On 24 January 2024 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Reigate Road (A240) Burgh Heath as extends from its junction with (D1039) West Drive to its junction with the pedestrian crossing leading to the access to the property known as "Asda Supermarket".

Alternative Route: (A240) Reigate Road, Burgh Heath, (A217) Brighton Road, (A2022) Fir Tree Road, and (A240) Reigate Road, Epsom Downs, or this route in reverse.

This Order is required to facilitate highways maintenance/ carriageway/ footway improvement works for, or on behalf of Surrey County Council. These works are anticipated to be completed within 6 weeks, during the 18-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 01 February 2024.

Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in force 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle's owner.

Access for emergency services and residents will be maintained, as well as pedestrians and cyclists, all other traffic will be required to follow the diversion route. (N.B) Access into Asda Supermarket will not be affected.
