Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024

On 31 January 2024 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of (a) Plough Lane (D276) Cranleigh as extends from its junction with (C47) The Green to its junction with the access to the properties known as "Firethorn Farm Cottage" and "Firethorn House" and, (b) Suspend "The Surrey County Council Plough Lane (D276) Cranleigh Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023" insofar as it affects that length of road specified in part (a) of this Notice.

Alternative Route: (D276) Plough Lane, (D276) North Breache Lane, (B2127) Ockley Road, and (B2127) The Street, or this route in reverse.

This Order is required to facilitate new water connection works for, or on behalf of Thames Water. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 3 days between the hours of 9am and 6pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 13 February 2024.

Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and cyclists. All other vehicular traffic will be required to follow the diversion route
