Pixham Lane (B2038) Dorking
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.1) 2023
On 20 September 2023 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of;
(a) Pixham Lane (B2038) Dorking as extends from its junction with (A25) Reigate Road to its junction with (D2878) Chester Close; and
(b) suspend "The Surrey County Council B2038 Pixham Lane Dorking Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.3) 2022" in its entirety.
Alternative Route: (A25) Reigate Road, (A24) Deepdene Avenue, and (B2038) Pixham Lane or this route in reverse.
This Order is required to facilitate replacement fire hydrant valve works for, or on behalf of SES Water. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 2 days between the hours of 8.30am and 5pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 02 October 2023.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in force 24 per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. It will not be possible to maintain access through the closure for emergency services, residents and businesses and all vehicular traffic will be required to use the signed diversion route. The Council are satisfied that, in accordance with Section 3(2)(a) and 3(2)(b) of the Act, vehicular access to and from premises within the length of road above, or accessible only therefrom, may be restricted in order to avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road and/or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising.
