Old Wharf Way (D3877) and Bridge Road (C229) Weybridge
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023

On 30 August 2023 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of;

(a) Old Wharf Way (D3877) Weybridge.

Alternative Route: (a) (A317) Weybridge Road, (A317) Weybridge Road Roundabout, (A317) Weybridge Road, (A317) Balfour Road, (B374) Church Street, and (C229) Bridge Road, and;

(b) that length of Bridge Road (C229) Weybridge as extends from its junction with (D7031) Wey Meadows to its junction with (B374) Church Street.

Alternative Route: (1) (C229) Bridge Road, (B374) Church Street, (A317) Balfour Road, (A317) Weybridge Road, (C229) Link Road, and (C229) Addlestone Road. (2) (C229) Addlestone Road, Links Road, (A317) Weybridge Road, (B374) Church Street, and (C229) Bridge Road.

This Order is required to facilitate carriageway works and/or resurfacing works and/or utility maintenance works to be carried out by, or on behalf of Surrey County Council within the length of road described in this notice. These works are anticipated to be carried out between the hours of 8am and 5pm over 6 months within the 18-month period of operation of the Temporary Order that commences on 15 September 2023.

Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. Access to premises within the affected length of road including access by emergency vehicles to these properties will be maintained only when safe to do so, if necessary, via the diversion route. All other traffic will be required to use the signed diversion route. During certain phases of the works, vehicular access to premises may be restricted, when this is the case such restriction of access will apply for no more than eight hours within any 24-hour period.

Alternative Route for HGV's- (A317) Weybridge Road, (B3121) Station Road, (A318) Brighton Road, (A318) New Haw Road, (B385) Woodham Lane, (C130) Scotland Bridge Road, (C130) Camphill Road, (A245) Old Woking Road, (A245) Parvis Road, (B374) Brooklands Road, (B374) Heath Road, and (C229) Bridge Road. N.B- 7.5T weight restriction and 7m width restriction on (C229) Bridge Road.
