Middle Street (C46) Shere
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.2) 2023

On 13 December 2023 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of;

(a) Middle Street (C46) Shere as extends from its junction with (C46) Gomshall Lane to its junction with (D226) The Square; and

(b) Suspend "The Surrey County Council Gomshall Lane (C46) and Middle Street (C46) Shere Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023" insofar as it affects that length of road specified in part (a) of this Notice.

Alternative Route: (1) (C46) Upper Street, (A25) Shere Road, (A248) Sherbourne, New Road, Park Road, Shere Heath Road, Sandy Lane, and Shere Lane;

(2) (C46) Shere Lane, (C46) Sandy Lane, (D222) Hook Lane, (D227) Burrows Lane, (D227) Queen Street, (A25) Shere Road, (C46) Upper Street.

This Order is required to facilitate new electrical connection works for, or on behalf of Network Plus. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 3 days between the hours of 8am and 5pm within 12-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 03 January 2024.

Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and cyclists.
