Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023
On 23 August 2023 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Lower Street (B2131) Haslemere as extends from its junction with (D5523) Sandrock to its junction with (A286) Shepherds Hill.
Alternative Route: (a) (A286) Lower Road, High Street, Lower Street, Shepherds Hill, Midhurst Road, (A287) Bell Road, Sturt Road, (B2131) Liphook Road, (D5521) Junction Place, (B2131) Wey Hill, and Lower Street and (b) (B2131) Lower Street, Wey Hill, (D5521) Junction Place, (B2131) Liphook Road, (A287) Sturt Road, Bell Road, (A286) Midhurst Road, and Shepherds Hill.
This Order is required to facilitate sewer cleaning works for, or on behalf of Lanes Group PLC. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 1 night between the hours of 10pm and 5.30am, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 07 September 2023.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and cyclists. All other vehicular traffic will be required to follow the diversion route.
