Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024

On 31 January 2024 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of;

(a) Guildford Street (D3040) Chertsey as extends from its junction with (B375) London Street to its junction with (B375) Heriot Road and;

(b) Suspend "The Surrey County Council B375 London Street, B375 Heriot Road, D3040 Guildford Street, and D3040 Free Prae Road Chertsey Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2022"; and

(c) Suspend "The Surrey County Council Guildford Street (D3040) and Guildford Street (B375) Chertsey Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023" insofar as it affects the lengths of roads specified in part (a) of this Notice.

Alternative Route: (B375) London Street and (B375) Heriot Road, or this route in reverse.

This Order is required to facilitate gas mains connection works for, or on behalf of Cadent Gas. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 5 days between the hours of 8am and 5pm within 12-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 12 February 2024.

Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for residents, pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. All other traffic, including the emergency services will be required to use the signed diversion route.
