Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024

On 21 February 2024 Surrey County Council Made the above-mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) and 15(8)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Guildford Road (C11) Knaphill as extends from its junction with (C11) Chobham Road to its junction with (C11) Scotts Grove Road.

Alternative Route: Scotts Grove Road, Beldam Bridge Road, Fellow Green, (A322) Guildford Road, Limecroft Road, and Chobham Road, or this route in reverse.

This Order is required to allow for surface dressing pre-patching works to be carried out by, or on behalf of Surrey County Council within the length of road described in this notice. This Temporary Traffic Order commences on 25 February 2024 and continues in force the provisions introduced by "The Surrey County Council Guildford Road (C11) Knaphill Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Notice 2024" issued under Section 14(2) of the Act on 05 February 2024.

Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times, as will access for emergency service vehicles in an emergency situation only. Vehicular access for residents and businesses will be maintained only when safe to do so, if necessary, via the diversion route. During certain phases of the works, vehicular access to premises may be restricted, when this is the case such restriction of access will apply for no more than eight hours within any 24-hour period.

The prohibition referred to above will not apply: (i) in respect of anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; (ii) in respect of anything done in accordance with any restriction or requirement indicated by traffic signs placed on the highway by or on behalf of the Police; (ii) to any vehicle being used in connection with the works; (iv) to any person carrying out the works.
