Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024

On 06 March 2024 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of Fordwater Road (B387) Chertsey.

Alternative Route:

(1) Stepgates, Free Prae Road, and (A317) Eastworth Road;

(2) (A317) Chertsey Road, (A317) St Peters Way, (A317) Chertsey Road, (A317) Eastworth Road, Free Prae Road, and Stepgates.

This Order is required to facilitate mains gas replacement works, for or on behalf of Morrisons Utilities. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 18 weeks between the hours of 7am and 7pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 18 March 2024.

Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and cyclists.
