Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
On 24 January 2024 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Ember Lane (B3379) Esher as extends from its junction with (D6899) Lower Green Road to its junction with (D6903) The Woodlands.
Alternative Route: (B3379) Station Road, (A307) Portsmouth Road, (A309) Scilly Isles Roundabout, (A309) Hampton Court Way, (B364) Embercourt Road, and (B3379) Ember Lane, or this route in reverse.
This Order is required to facilitate highways carriageway/footway patching and/or carriageway/ footway surface dressing and/or carriageway/ footway resurfacing and/or major highway maintenance works by, or on behalf of Surrey County Council. These works are anticipated to be carried out as soon as possible within 18-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 31 January 2024.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed; and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to a suitable location outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle's owner.
Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times, as will access for emergency service vehicles in an emergency situation only. Vehicular access for residents and businesses will be maintained only when safe to do so, if necessary, via the diversion routes. During certain phases of the works, vehicular access to premises may be restricted, when this is the case such restriction of access will apply for no more than eight hours within any 24-hour period.
