On 24 January 2024 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Chestnut Avenue (D488) Westerham as extends from its junction with the access to the property known as "Park Wood Golf Club" to its junction with the access to the property known as "Mole End".

Alternative Route: (B2024) Clarks Lane, (B2024) Croydon Road, (A25) Vicarage Hill, (A25) Brasted Road, (A233) Beggars Lane, (A233) London Road, and (A233) Westerham Hill, Tatsfield Lane, Rag Hill Road, and Church Hill, or this route in reverse.

This Order is required to facilitate excavation of air valve replacement works for, or on behalf of Thames Water. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 5 days between 8am and 5pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 29 January 2024.

Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in force 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. Due to the nature of the works, it will not be possible to maintain vehicular access through the closure, and all vehicular traffic, including the emergency services will be required to use the signed diversion route. No sole access will be affected by this closure.
