Chalmers Road East (D3263) Ashford
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023
On 06 December 2023 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Chalmers Road East (D3263) Ashford as extends from its junction with (D3264) Lynegrove Avenue to its junction with (B377) Feltham Road.
Alternative Route: Chalmers Road East, Chalmers Road and (B377) Feltham Road, or this route in reverse.
This Order is required to facilitate new electrical connection works for, or on behalf of Scottish & Southern Electricity Networks. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 4 days between the hours of 8am and 4pm within 12-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 18 December 2023.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times. Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained via road plates. All other vehicular traffic, including residents and businesses will be required to use the signed diversion route.
The Council are satisfied that, in accordance with Section 3(2)(a) and 3(2)(b) of the Act, vehicular access to and from premises within the length of road above, or accessible only therefrom, may be restricted in order to avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road and/or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising.
