Waverley parking review 2021

There are a number of stages involved in the review, these are shown below.

The current stage is: Implementation

Introduction

During August and September 2021, we assessed over 120 requests for new or amended parking restrictions in Waverley. These were brought to our attention largely by members of the public, the police, councillors and highway officers, since the previous review took place. After assessing the requests, and determining priorities for this review, proposals have been made for presentation at Waverley local committee.

Committee authorisation

All proposed parking restrictions were presented to Waverley Local Committee on 12 November 2021. The proposals were agreed with no changes.

Advertisement and objections

These restrictions were advertised from 13 May to 10 June 2022. This included the publishing of a formal notice in the Surrey Advertiser and Farnham and Haslemere Herald; street notices being erected on site at each location; plus drawings and a statement of reasons available to view at the bottom of this page. Those properties immediately fronting locations where changes are proposed were notified individually by hand delivered letters.

Approval

County councillors and the Parking and Traffic Enforcement Team manager have considered the feedback, both positive and negative, that we received during the formal advertisement and have made final decisions about which proposals will be implemented. A report summarising the objections, support and comments received, detailing the final decisions and the reasons for them, is available to download and view at the bottom of this page. Everyone who responded to the formal advert on a particular proposal will be emailed or written to, notifying them of the decision made prior to the implementation stage.

Implementation

This parking review is still being installed on the ground in some remaining locations. We are trying to complete these as soon as possible.
