Waverley parking review 2021

There are a number of stages involved in the review, these are shown below.

The current stage is: Committee authorisation

During August and September 2021, we assessed over 120 requests for new or amended parking restrictions in Waverley. These were brought to our attention largely by members of the public, the police, councillors and highway officers, since the previous review took place. After assessing the requests, and determining priorities for this review, proposals have been made for presentation at Waverley local committee.

Committee authorisation

All proposed parking restrictions were presented to Waverley Local Committee on 12 November 2021. The proposals were agreed with no changes.

Advertisement and objections

All of the proposed parking restrictions will be advertised in early 2022. This will include the publishing of a formal notice in the Surrey Advertiser and Farnham and Haslemere Herald; street notices being erected on site at each location; plus drawings and a statement of reasons becoming available to view at the bottom of this page. Those properties immediately fronting locations where changes are proposed will be notified individually by letter.

The Parking Team manager, in consultation with the chairman/ vice chairman of the local committee, and the county councillor of the area concerned will consider the feedback, both positive and negative, that we receive during the formal advertisement and will make final decisions about which proposals will be implemented. A report summarising the objections, support and comments received, detailing the final decisions and the reasons for them, will become available to download and view at the bottom of this page. Everybody who responds to the formal advert on a particular proposal will be written to, notifying them of the decision made prior to the implementation stage.

All agreed proposals will be installed on the ground during Spring/Summer 2022.
