Allocation of permits

The number of resident permits that the residents of a property in a permit scheme are allowed to apply for varies from scheme to scheme depending on the local conditions. The default standard number is calculated by the number of vehicles registered to the members of the household minus the number of off-street parking spaces for the property. For example, if there were 3 registered vehicles and 1 off street parking space, it would mean that household could apply for up to 2 resident permits. The list below describes the allocation in the various schemes in each borough or district area:

Elmbridge

In all the permit schemes in Elmbridge, the maximum number of resident permits that a household may apply for is calculated by the number of vehicles registered to the members of the household minus the number of off-street parking spaces for the property.

Epsom & Ewell

In permit scheme O (for residents of 10-16 Hook Road, Epsom) each household can apply for a maximum of 1 permit, if there is no off-street parking for the property.

In the permit scheme in the Hookfield and Lindsay Close controlled parking zone in Epsom, each household can apply for a maximum of one permit.

  • in area D, each household may apply for a maximum of 2 permits if there is no off-street space for the property, one of which would be valid for use in area D and the other for use in either area A, B, C or H (as appropriate). If there is one off street space for the property, the household may apply for a maximum of 1 permit for use in either area A, B, C or H (as appropriate). In addition in area D, there is an overall limit of 316 permits that can be used to park in area D at any one time.
