South East England Waste Planning Advisory Group (SEWPAG)

The South East Waste Planning Advisory Group (SEWPAG) is a regional group for Waste Planning Authorities and involving the Environment Agency and the waste management industry.

We, Surrey County Council, as the Minerals and Waste Planning Authority (MWPA), are a member of the SEWPAG. Participating in SEWPAG helps the MWPA meet its Duty to Cooperate obligations relating to a variety of strategic cross-boundary issues facing planning for waste management in the southeast of England.

A SEWPAG Joint Position Statement (PDF, West Berkshire County Council) on the permanent deposit of inert waste on land in the southeast of England was signed by waste planning authorities in November 2019.
