The reasons why we use your personal data
This privacy notice relates to the Learning and Development Team and in particular the apprenticeship levy transfers scheme, where Surrey County Council can transfer apprenticeship levy funds to other employers for apprenticeships.
What processing of personal data is undertaken by the team
We use your personal information to:
- ensure you meet the eligibility criteria to receive a levy transfer from us
- contact you by email or telephone to administer the levy transfer(s) and request updates for financial forecasting
- keep a record of all levy transfers supported by the council
What Information do we collect?
In the course of applying for a levy transfer through the SCC levy transfer webpage we collect the following information:
- your personal information (such as name, business address, contact number, email address)
- the apprentice's name(s), age(s), home postcode(s) and employment status(es)
- the training provider's name and contact details (such as name, contact number and email address)
- information about the apprenticeship course (such as title, planned start and end dates, price)
We may also collect special category (sensitive) personal information for the purposes of equality of opportunity or treatment.
How we are allowed to use your personal data
Your personal information is collected and processed to meet our statutory responsibilities including under the Apprenticeships, Skills, Children and Learning Act 2009.
Consent
To process your personal data, we will explain to you what we are asking you to agree to and why. If we have consent to use your personal data, you have the right to remove it at any time. If you want to remove your consent, please contact us at the following email address myhelpdeskhr@surreycc.gov.uk and we will deal with your request.
Who we share your personal data with
We share your personal information with the team that processes levy transfer applications. We may forward your information to the Education and Skills Funding Agency if your application is successful and if required.
Retention of data
We will hold your personal information until the apprenticeship ends due to the apprentice completing or withdrawing from the course, after which time it will be archived or securely destroyed.
