The reasons why we use your personal data
This privacy notice applies to the Active Surrey team, which works across Surrey in a number of key areas to increase physical activity for the residents of Surrey who need it the most.
What processing of personal data is undertaken by the service?
Your personal data may be collected as part of your participation in one of our programmes:
Be Your Best programme: Surrey’s Healthy Lifestyle Programme for families with children aged 5 to 17 who are above a healthy weight. This holistic programme supports eligible Surrey families to better health by supporting them to eat better, move more, and improve overall well-being.
Holiday Activity and food/Club4: Runs in the Easter, summer and Christmas holidays and offers healthy food and fun activities for eligible children aged 4 to 16.
Active Schools activities and associated programmes: Delivery of Surrey School Games, Active Schools Movement and Leadership opportunities for pupils.
Physical activity on Workwell programme: The programme focuses on early intervention and support, offering participants an opportunity to access a physical activity advisor to reduce barriers to work.
In addition, we collect your personal data for the following reasons:

- Photographs and videos for marketing purposes
- Client referral information
If we take a photograph of you or film you, we ask for your consent to use this in the communications we undertake.
How we are allowed to use your personal data
Consent
To process your personal data, we will explain to you what we are asking you to agree to and why. If we have consent to use your personal data, you have the right to remove it at any time. If you want to remove your consent, please contact us at the following email address active.surrey@surreycc.gov.uk and we will deal with your request.

Retention of data
Data will be retained in accordance with our service specific data retention schedule.
Your photo and film consent lasts for 5 years after which we will re-seek your consent or no longer use the photo or film. However, you have the right to withdraw consent within this time period.
