What are the Tower Awards?

The Tower Awards give you, the residents and service users of Surrey County Council and our staff the opportunity to nominate council staff members who gave you outstanding customer service. The council are holding the Tower Awards every quarter to help us identify staff who are making a difference to your life in Surrey and are setting the standard for our customer services as a whole.

Your opinion counts!

Your feedback will help us learn from your experience. It will help us identify individuals who have gone the extra mile and recognise them for what they have done and are doing. By recognising them, and publicising their achievements, they will inspire their colleagues to continually improve the way we deliver our services to you. How it works

  • You may nominate any member of staff: they may be from any department or they may provide support services to you in the community.
  • Staff can nominate other staff members who have given them excellent service no matter what their position in the council.
  • You may nominate at any time and the nominations will be considered every quarter by a panel of judges.
  • All successful nominees will be awarded a badge of membership.
  • Award winners will join a group that will make a real difference to the way we work for our customers, our residents and service users.

Who decides?

The nominations will be considered by people who care about great service. They will decide which are the truly exceptional stories and every quarter, a new panel of four judges will be drawn from:

  • residents of Surrey;
  • elected members of the council;
  • previous winners;
  • managers and staff.
