Dorking Community Recycling Centre

Community Recycling Centres, once known as rubbish tips or dumps, are now called recycling centres as the majority of waste is recycled.

Opening hours

All year round

  • Monday - 8am - 4pm
  • Tuesday - closed (your nearest alternative site)
  • Wednesday to Friday - 8am to 4pm
  • Weekends - 9am to 4pm
  • The centre is closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day.

Van Permits

Vans, pickups and trailers need a permit to access this centre.

Household waste

This centre accepts most household waste. It does not accept:

If you have any of the above types of waste you will now need to take it to one of the following CRCs:

This centre can only accept small amounts of other types of construction and DIY waste. Before visiting with this type of waste, please read our construction and DIY waste policy.

Larger amounts and business construction waste must be taken to a waste transfer station.

Charges for some non-household waste

You will need to pay to take large amounts of non-household waste - such as DIY/construction waste and tyres - to our centres. Find out more about the charges for some non-household waste. All other types of household waste can still be taken to CRCs for free.

Business waste

It does not accept business waste. The nearest centre that does is Leatherhead.

Pedestrians

For safety, pedestrians cannot walk into this centre.

Closures

The centre can close for up to 30 minutes during the day while full containers are exchanged and waste compacted. Leatherhead is the nearest centre if Dorking is closed.
