Plasterboard waste

From 1 September 2016, there will be a charge for disposing of this waste material. Find out more about these charges.

Includes gypsum based products, DIY waste, construction waste.

Advice for households


Plasterboard and gypsum are now only accepted at the following community recycling centres (CRCs):

It will not be accepted at the remaining seven CRCs:

Ranmore Road, Dorking Randalls Road, Leatherhead
Swift Lane, Bagshot Wilton Road, Camberley

If you bring it in van, pickup or trailer you will be directed to a waste transfer station and have to pay a fee.


Charges are being introduced for plasterboard from 1 September 2016, even if brought in a car. Find out more about these charges.

Advice for businesses

It is illegal to dispose of business waste through facilities provided for householders, including household kerbside collection bins, street bins, recycling banks or recycling centres. For information on handling and disposing of business waste see our business waste page.
