Club4 holiday activities library offer

Get set for a fun summer of reading - events, activities and more

Now is a great time to visit your free local library with your son or daughter. Reading opens up whole new worlds and if your child is young it gives you a good excuse to spend some special time with them (make it part of their bedtime routine and it'll help sleep readiness too).

There's no cost and joining your local library comes with free access to computers and WIFI plus printing facilities. All Surrey libraries are open and along with events (like Lego clubs and storytime for younger kids which we hope to restart soon), you can borrow eBooks, eComics and eAudiobooks alongside printed items.

When you register, we'll confirm membership details by email so your child can start borrowing straight away. If your child is already a member but has lost their card just pop in for a free replacement, telling them that you're with the Club4 programme.

Wild World Heroes - Summer Reading Challenge 2021

Summer Reading Challenge 2021. Wild World Heroes, presented by The Reading Agency. Delivered in partnership with libraries. WWF, working together to inspire readers to stand up for our planet. Image shows six cartoon young people, looking out from different corners of a jungle background.Launching on 10 July, this year's Challenge from the Reading Agency helps 4-11 year olds build their reading skills and confidence.

This year's theme is Wild World Heroes and has been developed in partnership with WWF UK, the world's leading independent conservation organisation. Wild World Heroes will inspire children to stand up for the future of our planet.

The aim is to read up to six books, and children can read whatever they like from Surrey Libraries' huge range, including eBooks and eAudiobooks! Collect special stickers and rewards along the way. It's open to existing and new library members free of charge.

Keep your eyes peeled for some great events coming to a library near you!

Mini Summer Reading Challenge for pre-schoolers

The pre-school mini Challenge is suitable for children aged 3 and under. It is a great way to encourage younger children to borrow and read books, especially if older brothers or sisters are taking part in the main Challenge.

Like the main Challenge, it is free of charge and open to existing and new library members, online and in libraries.
