Replace or change your student fare card

The scheme for the 2018/19 academic year (starting September 2018) is now open.


To replace a lost/stolen bus student fare card

Log on to your account (using your email address and password). The option to replace your bus student fare card will be available.

Replacement cards cost £10 and payments are taken online via credit or debit cards.


To replace a lost/stolen train student fare card

Apply for a replacement train student fare card

Please complete the online form with the cardholder's details to request a lost/stolen duplicate train form. The form is also available via email or post (please state your preference) and will be sent out within five working days. Once we receive the completed duplicate form back it can take up to 15 working days to process.

Once processed your new card will be sent to your home address. The cost of replacing a train student fare card is £10 and the Student Fare Card Team will contact you for online payment once the duplicate form has been received. This is a flat rate to cover administration costs. Only one duplicate will be issued in an academic year. Please do not send any card payment information to us via post or email.

Please be aware that if you have to purchase full adult fare season tickets while you are waiting for your new duplicate card to arrive, you will be able to reclaim the student fare card discount once you have received your duplicate card. Please keep your tickets/receipts so that the station staff can issue the refund.


Changing your mode of transport

Once you have received your student fare card and decide that you would like to change your mode of transport you will need to send back the original pass by post to the student fare card team.

Please include the relevant information and contact details such as new travel mode and include the card holder's school/college, journey details, home address and telephone number. The cost of changing your mode of transport is £10 and the Student Fare Card Team will contact you for online payment once the original fare card has been received. This is a flat rate to cover administration costs. Please do not send any card payment information to us via post or email.


To change your bus student fare card journey

Once you have received your bus student fare card and decide that you would like to change your bus journey you will need to send back the original bus student fare card to the student fare card team.

Once your original card has been sent back you can then apply online by logging into your student fare card account and choosing the option to replace your card. You will then be able to purchase a new bus student fare card. The cost of changing a bus student fare card is £10 and payments are taken online. This is a flat rate to cover administration costs. Please do not send any card payment information to us via post or email.


To change your train student fare card route

Once you have received your train student fare card and decide that you would like to change your train journey you will need to send back the original train student fare card to the student fare card team.

Please include the relevant information and contact details such as new train journey details and include the card holder's school/college, home address and telephone number. The cost of changing your train student fare card is £10 and the Student Fare Card Team will contact you for online payment once the original train student fare card has been received. Please do not send any card payment information to us via post or email.
