Admission to sixth form in Surrey secondary schools
How to select sixth forms to apply for
You can find out which secondary schools in Surrey have a sixth form by using our Surrey schools directory or by viewing our booklet 'Information on entry to sixth forms in Surrey secondary schools 2017/18' (PDF). This booklet also gives you information on the admission criteria for each school and the minimum number of places that will be available to external applicants. The admission criteria will be used by each school to prioritise applicants if there more applications from external students than places available.
Each Surrey school will welcome applications for entry to their sixth form from students who have attended the school in year 11 in 2016/17 and wish to enter the sixth form in September 2017.
Each Surrey school also accepts applications for entry to their sixth forms from external candidates who attended another school for year 11 during 2016/17.
Entry requirements for both internal and external students
Entry to the sixth form is subject to a student having achieved the entry requirements for the programme of subjects/courses they wish to pursue whether vocational or academic. Students should refer to each school's Sixth Form Prospectus for further details of individual subject requirements. Individual subjects may be limited in the number of students they are able to accommodate.
How to apply for a sixth form place
Each Surrey school with a sixth form manages their own applications. In order to apply for a sixth form place at a Surrey school you should contact each school direct. If you wish to apply for a sixth form place at a school outside Surrey, you should contact the school for more information on how to apply.
