If your child has been permanently excluded, you can ask for an independent review panel (IRP) to look at the governing board’s decision.
This section explains what the review is, how to apply, what happens at the hearing and how the panel makes its decision.
Important
- You must apply for a review within 15 school days from the date the governing board sends you its decision letter.
- The independent review panel cannot reinstate your child.
- The permanent exclusion stays on your child’s school record whatever the panel decides.
